Tropical Paradise for Divers

The Island of Oahu is an outstanding place for tropical scuba diving. Honolulu and vicinity has lots of dive shops, diving schools, and guided tours, catering to every diver, from first timer to expert. Coral reefs, teeming with brilliant tropical fish, and wrecks close to shore provide opportunities to explore. Warm water, all year round, also makes Honolulu a great place to dive.

There are also some outstanding places for snorkeling, where the learning curve and the equipment demands are minimized. Hanauma Bay is famous for the exceptional snorkeling within the cone of an extinct volcano, open to to the ocean on just a small part of the exterior. You can easily take a bus or drive a short distance from Waikiki over to the Southeast side of Oahu, where Hanauma Bay is located.
